Agency Type: Public Manages the court custody process that deals with the legal and physical custody of minor children between parents, grandparents, and third parties. Assists clients with information regarding the custody process. PROGRAMS: CHILDREN FIRST CUSTODY EDUCATION PROGRAM A four hour educational program mandated by the courts for all parties and children ages 6 - 17 at the time a custody action has been filed. The program is designed to assist parents in understanding the feelings, reactions and needs of their children during the separation or divorce process. It encourages parents to work together to minimize the negative long-term effects of separation and divorce and to seek resolutions through co-parenting agreements rather than engaging in lengthy and harmful court battles. The children's program is an interactive program designed to help children see that others are experiencing similar emotions and to learn how to communicate their thoughts and feelings in a productive way. The adult program is offered on selected Tuesdays starting at 5:00 PM and Saturdays starting at 8:00 AM each month. The children's program is offered on Saturdays simultaneously with the adult program. Fee for the program is $40.00 per adult and $5.00 per child. Eligibility: No eligibilty requirements.
