Agency Type: Non-Profit No registration fee – the MS Society's main purpose is to inform MS clients and their families about multiple sclerosis, services and programs offered through the Keystone Branch. Information and referral services are available. PROGRAMS: AQUATICS PROGRAMS Program designed specifically for the MS client and offers therapeutic water movement to help sustain and improve muscular and joint mobility. Held Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Hollidaysburg YMCA from 1:00 – 2:00 PM. Lifts are available for those who need assistance getting in and out of the water. Ability to swim is not necessary. Eligibility: MS Registration LENDING LIBRARY Various VCR videos and books are available to groups and individuals which outline multiple sclerosis and current research as well as services provided by the Society. To promote a better understanding of MS and its effects upon the entire family. Eligibility: MS Registration. SUPPORT GROUP Held once a month, MS clients and their spouses are encouraged to attend. Guest speakers, films and rap sessions are offered. To promote sociability among clients and give spouses an opportunity to understand ways in which other spouses are coping with their loved ones’ chronic illness. Eligibility: MS registration (client only). PEER COUNSELING Peer counseling involves clients with MS talking to other clients with MS to help them with problems they may be having that only others with MS would understand.
