The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) Blair County is a grassroots organization whose purpose is to provide education and support for families who are confronted by mental illness in their family or friends.   In addition, NAMI is the voice for those afflicted by a mental illness that might not be able to speak for themselves.  Thus advocacy on a local, statewide and national level is an important part of NAMI's work.

The Blair County affiliate of NAMI usually meets at the YWCA on Union Avenue on the third Tuesday of each month except for the months of July and December.  Blair County NAMI engages in advocacy, education and leadership development.

For information concerning NAMI and whether it's right for you, please call Peggy at 814-942-4779.  All who face the challenges of mental illness are welcome.
